Driveway Vehicle Solutions Reduces Barriers To Salary Sacrifice With Used Vehicles Offering

New Employee Car Benefit Scheme offer is designed to make salary sacrifice accessible to more employees, with a wider choice of cars and agreement lengths.

Driveway Vehicle Solutions, Lithia UK’s fleet and leasing arm, is opening up access to salary sacrifice for more employees with the launch of an approved used car offer designed to remove some barriers associated with employee car schemes.

The Employee Car Benefit Scheme will now give employees the option of choosing a used vehicle through salary sacrifice alongside the existing choice of brand new cars. The move follows feedback that access to salary sacrifice could be a barrier for some employees, particularly where the cost of a brand-new vehicle puts suitable options out of reach. By introducing used cars, Driveway Vehicle Solutions is broadening the range of vehicles and price points available, giving employers the opportunity to make their car benefit scheme relevant to more of their workforce.

Cars available in the scheme will be available on a 12 - 36 month agreements, depending on the vehicle, and all cars will be no older than four years old. Unlike a new car factory order, employees will also be able to see the exact vehicle they are choosing, including its registration, mileage and condition-grade. Driveway Vehicle Solutions already has vehicles ready in stock, allowing employees to get into their next vehicle sooner, all of which come with a full-service history.

The used vehicles offering also gives vehicles a second life, helping businesses and employees make greater use of cars already on the road. The agreements also give employees a greater flexibility to change vehicles more regularly, whether their circumstances change or they simply want the option to move into something different sooner.

For employers, the expanded scheme also creates a more inclusive employee benefit. By introducing a broader range of vehicles, price points and agreement lengths, businesses can open up the scheme to more of their workforce, helping make it an attractive benefit for both existing employees and prospective new recruits.

Employees choosing a used vehicle will benefit from servicing, maintenance, tyres, breakdown cover, vehicle tax and Life Shield included as standard, providing greater certainty over the ongoing cost of running their car.

Initial stock available via Driveway Vehicle Solutions’ Employee Car Benefit Scheme includes models from Audi, Dacia, Ford, Hyundai, Polestar, Porsche, Tesla, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo. The approved used stock will continually change as individual vehicles become available.

The new used offering builds on the business’ existing salary sacrifice scheme, launched in June 2025. The scheme has already enabled more than 25,000 employees across customers including The Royal Mint, A.F. Blakemore, AVCO and Targa Telematics to access tax-efficient electric vehicle options.
